My father is in dire need of a
Power Chair Carrier (for
hauling his chair). My father
has copd and lung scars which
cause breathing prob for him
and he needs it asap and he
gets worse everytime he walks.
My father is also on limited means
also. Please think about this asap

need to rent mobility scooter in Italy and on cruise

Next summer I plan to be in Rome for a week at a conference and plan to do some sightseeing. Then I hope to take a cruise to Greece, returning to Rome before flying home.

I have my own mobility scooter, but it is very lightweight and not too good on cobblestones.

Are there any places to rent mobility scooters that would serve my purposes?

Front or Rear Wheel Drive?

The Lexus Light folds more compactly, but has front wheel drive vs the Extra Light Deluxe with rear wheel drive and a larger foot pad when folded.

Can the front wheel drive provide as much power/traction as the rear wheel?

How would you compare the ease of transporting both models relative to air travel?

Travel Locations with the most friendly people

I always enjoy going to locations and the first thing you see as you exit the plane is smiling faces as you join the immigration line, and a warm reception from the locals as you leave the airport. Of course, that is just a start, but what I really want to know from the members is where are some of the places you've been that have such friendly people?

Portability

Hi

I own a vacation home in Florida which I visit for 4 - 6 weeks twice a year. I usually use super store ECVs for getting around inside large stores but there are some places like malls, etc which don't have this facility and I therefore can't visit them.

Which is the lightest and smallest ECV I can rent from you and what would the cost be? I have shoulder problems (as well as mobility problems) so I can't lift very heavy weights very easily and I can't use a non-powered wheelchair for the same reason.

Any help gratefully received!

Maintenance on your Scooters

When it comes time to perform maintenance on your scooter, here are a few helpful tips to help you ensure your scooter is running as best it can.

* Monthly, if your scooter is equipped with pneumatic tires, ensure your tire pressure is maintained at 30-35 psi, also check for wear on the tire tread.

* Monthly, ensure your battery and electrical connections are secure. You may feel comfortable securing these connections with electrical tape to ensure the connection is secure. Also, ensure the battery posts are tightened. Loose posts can cause the wires move around more frequently increasing the chance of shorting your connections.

* Monthly, ensure your scooters wheels and bearings are cleaned. The build up of dirt, gravel, and sand can cause added friction, and cause fittings to become worn and stripped.

* Every 2-3 months, ensure all bolts, lugs, and nuts are tightened. This becomes especially important around your wheel fittings. When using your scooter, these fittings can become loosened with the bumps and uneven surfaces of the road you travel on.

Other tips to help keep your scooter looking as best it can:

* Vinyl or rubber conditioner can be applied to bumpers, outer tire rims, and trim to maintain protection and add shine.

* Light applications of car wax to scooter shrouds can also add shine and maintain protection from scratches and dust scores.

Hope these tips will help keep your scooter both running and looking great while cruising this summer

air travel

I am looking for an electric mobility scooter that I can drive to the airline gate and bring the scooter on board into the cabin and store it in the cabin during travel. Most of the "foldable" ones fold only the tiller.

Also, I do not want to dismantle it every time I want to go shopping in different stores.
